The Agloco Viewbar is a small application that sits either at the top of your desktop or just above your taskbar. The Viewbar itself gives you very quick access to the internet search facilities of many search engines. However what makes this software different to the many different
toolbar plug-ins that are available is that as well as quicker search it also offers you the opportunity to earn money whilst you surf the internet. Part of the Agloco Viewbar displays context sensitive "text" ads, the revenue from which is paid back to the users of the Viewbar software. In order to get your share you must sign up for an account
with Agloco, you will then be credited with a share of any revenue. You earn money dependent on how much you use the Viewbar, up to a maximum of 5 hours a month. You can find out more about Agloco here.
But isn't this Spyware?
Spyware is software that is performing actions without your permission, this is not the case here, you choose to either install the Viewbar or not. The privacy policy which must be accpted prior to installation is extremely frank in what information is gathered as and when you use the Viewbar.
But isn't this Adware?
In a way yes, but not in the traditional sense. Adware normally generates unwanted pop-ups over the top of what you are currently looking at. The Agloco Viewbar displays text adverts within it's own program space that are completely non obtrusive. The program comes with full install/uninstall support so you can remove it at any time.
Can you REALLY make money from this?
Being new nobody can say for sure, however for only 5 hours of usage you have very little to use. It is worth noting that a very similar scheme back in the first dot com boom paid out more than $100,000,000 to its members so there is very little reason for suspecting that it wont work.
