I,my daughter and great granddaughter took a trip to Lapland, leaving Cardiff on the 15th December 2007.We had originally booked the 2 day trip to Kilpisjavi but it was cancelled and we were offered the Arctic Express trip to Luosto at no extra charge. We had a good flight with Airmalta and the ride on Santas train was good with sing-a-longs and happy elves to entertain us.We were allocated a lovely warm Log cabin with lovely comfy beds. The fifteen minute walk to the Restaurant for our evening meal was fun and after the meal we went on a sleigh ride (just the three of us)pulled by a skidoo. The gentleman who took us out was to say the least, attentive and friendly. Always checking we were alright and even stopping to point out the horizon and the complete silence of the night. After our walk back to the cabin we soon fell asleep in the comfy beds.Next morning we loved the activities, reindeer and Husky sleigh rides. My great-granddaughter enjoyed the sledging and the childrens skidoos. Santas workshop was a treat to see, and the elf even sang to me, the Sheilas Wheels advert. The trip up to see Santa was amazing and on the way down I was able to get a few wonderful pictures of the true Winter Wonderland. The food in the Restaurant at Luosto was very good and plenty for all. The guide on our coach (No 1) was lovely and we are still singing about seeking santa and his elves as taught to us by the guide and of course the Arctic Express song. All in all the trip was great. I am 62 years old and am so pleased that I was able to go on the trip of a lifetime. Someone asked me where I was going in 2008. My reply was "where do I go to better the Lapland trip" My only regret is I wish we could have stayed a few more days.Thank you Canterbury Travel for such a wonderful trip which has given us such lovely memories.

I booked a one day tour for myself and two children with Canterbury Travel and had it cancelled six weeks before with not even an apology. i did get a full refund and a stroppy cow on the end of the phone!! I rebooked with www.santaclaustrips.co.uk who were brilliant. lapland was ok, the father Christmas was disappointing, fake beard someone obviously dressed up but apart from that it was great.

I've just come back from Lapland(Sunday 16th). What a fantastic trip!! Lots of activities for both kids and big kids alike. Excellent cabins and plenty of interaction with the children from the elves and Santa. Only let down was flying with Jet2, their staff couldn't be bothered to give any time and some were quite rude. All in all a great trip and well worth every penny to see the kids faces.

Went on the one day Lapland EXTRANVANGZA trip on Dec 9 2007 with CT. 2 adults and 3 children. Paid 2,700 euro and that was with one free child place. What a rip off. There was no interaction with our kids from anyone over there. We were promised that Santa's special elves would interatact and meet the kids, WHAT A JOKE AND A LIE. Santa was a rush job, with poor pressies. One smowmobile between all the children. The only good thing was the snow and Canterbury didn't organise that!! I wrote to Tania OConnell who takes their complaints. I was so nice in my letter as this was the first time I ever did anything like this. She wrote back to me in 3 days with a smart, rude letter. I was in tears and am taking the matter further. I am formally complaining her to her head office. I want a refund and don't care if I have to employ a solicitor to get it. CANTERBURY are not the best to go with, they are a rip off so beware

Went on a 1 day tour on the 8th Dec 2007 with my son, Fiancee, Her sister and 2 children and had the most amazing time. I have to agree that the airline was a bit of a letdown and was unlike no other flight ive been on. We had a sing for about 5 mins and that was about it but food was ok and staff were pleasant enough. Got seats together with plenty of legroom. The day in Lapland was magical and I will never forget it. The look on the childrens faces were priceless when we found santa. The activity area was perfect with very friendly staff, good food and LOADS of snow. We actually missed the Huskies because we had so much fun in the snow but the idea of a trip like this is TO HAVE FUN which we certainly did. As i type this we are looking to book a 5 day tour next year and shall be doing so in the new year. I would recommend this trip to anybody. On the return flight we were late out but hey in those conditions who can complain. To be honest we were still buzzing from the majical day we had that we just didn't care
