Fixing Your Netgear Wireless Router Problems

My Netgear Wireless Router is not working properly.

I had my previous router for 3 years and had exactly ZERO problems with it, however it only supported the 802.11b wireless protocol so just didn’t appear fast enough in these days of streaming video. This became a big problem when I got my X-Box 360, it was impossible to watch streamed movies. After a lot of research I decided to upgrade to a more advanced model, I went for the NetGear DG834PN Wireless ADSL Router. It boasts many features, including super g, twice normal speed with MIMO technology that eliminates dead-spots within your wireless network. Although far from the cheapest option it did appear to be the best wireless router out there, so I asked Father Christmas nicely and that’s what I got.

Forward AOL, Yahoo, Live Mail With GetMail, FreePOPS

How To Forward ALL Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL And Live Mail Accounts With GetMail

What Is The Best Way Of Moving E-mail Between Accounts?

As promised in the last article that explained why GetMail for Hotmail doesn’t support alternative access methods to Hotmail accounts that have had WebDAV disabled this article will now explain how YOU can setup GetMail to forward mail from ALL Hotmail, Yahoo MailAOL Mail and even Windows Live Mail accounts (not to mention literally hundreds of other webmail only services). The key to getting GetMail to work with these accounts is to take advantage of the many “Web To POP3” software products available. As mentioned already, my favourite of these is a program called FreePOPS, which as an added bonus also happens to be free. I’m not associated with the authors of FreePOPS in anyway but think it is a great piece of software and a utility which most of us will need at some point in our life (just imagine if Google restricted POP3 access to GMail, what would you do?). So here we go, how to use GetMail to forward your Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, AOL and even Windows Live Mail accounts:-

How To Go Full Screen With Bet365 Streams On PC

Bet365 still continues to be just about the best source of free quality sports streams available online. Free depending on the state of your Bet365 of course but either way they offer a legal way in to watching a huge amount of sport that otherwise is not broadcast. As many of the other streaming sites/sources/software has disappeared over the years Bet365 still stands there giving away amazing quality streams.

WinEncrypt – Easy Data Encryption

Secure Your Mobile Data Storage In 1 Easy Step

WinEncrypt makes it onto my list of highly recommended programs. It’s a very easy to use Encryption program that allows you to create secure drives on your PC. All data on these drives is stored encrypted and you’ll need the password to view the files. However it’s not this functionality that grabbed my attention with WinEncrypt, instead it’s the programs ability to secure a USB drive. As a self employed software developer I keep all my code on a USB drive (for portability) and I have often worried about what would happen if I lost my USB key. WinEncrypt now allows me to completely secure that data in a very simple, efficient way.

The Best File Sharing Software

Is File Sharing Still A Thing?

File sharing and the software that makes it possible has always been popular. From the very earliest days and the cult names such as Morpheus and Kazaa and the infamous Napster network people have always looked at ways to share their files for free. Of course the legal problems that this caused is very well known and the life span of software that promotes file sharing is limited. This has always confused me because surely it would make more sense to cut out and punish ILLEGALLY sharing and downloading files rather than destroy the actual communication network. I suppose you could compare it with destroying all the roads to stop people from drink driving! Obviously this makes no sense whatsoever but when you have lots of money to throw at a “course” it’s amazing how even the most stupid thing can happen. There were are are many thousands of files that people share that have no copyright restrictions and people are encouraged to share them, all perfectly legal. In fact legal file sharing is a definite growth area.

The Best Web Browser – Mozilla Firefox

Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Which Is Best?

Due to the constant security problems, ad-ware scares and browser hijacks I stopped using Internet Explorer a little while back (it was about the same time as when I re-wrote most of this site to make it more friendly to other browsers!). What I didn’t realise is that there are still a lot of people that not only have never used Firefox, but have never even heard of it! Here are some more reasons why it pays to make the change:-

Gmail Is Brilliant

How To Get Your Gmail Account

Who has more than 1 webmail account? Most people I guess, usually because one is missing a “vital” feature that some other provider has, you invariably end up accumulating various accounts. I first got a Gmail account a long time ago, I was one of the first testers when invites were like gold dust. Even so, besides huge storage it was pretty featureless, I felt the need to keep my other accounts. Now GMail has really started to kick in with some killer features it’s not the case anymore, GMail is my main account, I use GetMail to get all my other accounts into GMail but I’m sure eventually I’ll just have my Gmail account. Here are some of the great features:-
