I just wanted to say that we (my husband, I and our 2 daughters age 10 and 11) went to Lapland December 2006 in search of Santa with Canterbury travel and we stayed 4 nights in a log cabin and I must say it was a dream come true!!! it was so well organised and the flights there and back were great with all singing. it was a fantastic atmosphere. The food served in the Scandic lodge resturant was the best and you could eat all you could! Everything was so well organised. We are saving up to go again in February 2010 so we can spend longer doing the excursions. I have and still do reccomend Canterbury Travel and their trips to Lapland to anyone!

having booked a one day trip, in jan 07, to lap land for Myself and my husband and our 5 children before they got too old to appreciate it we felt it was a lot of money but we are quite impulsive! but unfortunately we had some bad news and had to re think so within 2 days of paying the £700 deposit we asked to cancel and thats where the problems began. they refused to refund any of the deposit even though they would sell the trip again and now 2 days before the balance is due they say i never cancelled in writing! which i did. CT were extremely un helpful and extremely rude it was the most expensive mistake we ever made!!!

So pleased I stumbled across this page prior to booking our Lapland adventure! £1300 is an awful lot of money to spend on a day out, and I really couldnt justify it unless I was guaranteed a great day. Think I will just head for some snow, much cheaper and the kids will love that just as much!

Not a great typist, so this might be short and sweet. Went to Lapland 4 years ago with CT for a 5 day trip in the early part of December staying in one of the log cabins with my two kids (aged 8 and 4 at the time), wife and mother-in-law. Having been on several great holidays in very different parts of the world and with a variety of travel companies, I can honestly say (and the family all agree) that our Lapland holiday was the best we have ever had. Yes it was a great deal of money for 5, all too quick, days and the worry was always 'will it live up to our expectations' and 'will it be money well spent'. Well it did and it was, so much so that we recommended it to friends (who had an equally good time in 2005) and we intend making another trip with a larger family group in 2009, again with CT, a decision based purely on our very successful previous trip (and why on earth not?). Lapland is stunningly beautiful, the Finns extemely friendly and the CT staff we came into contact with, either by phone or face to face, very efficient and helpful. I must admit that our holiday was entirely problem free and the real test of a travel company is I suppose when things go wrong and the manner in which they deal with these occurences, so I obviously couldn't comment on those people who had a bit of a mare by their accounts. But like I say, based on our 2004 trip we will be using CT again for 2009, nuff said really.
