In my opinion Web CEO is the premier software package when it comes to optimising your website, whether it be for financial purposes or just to make your website a better experience for those viewing it. I always said that for any third party software to make it onto the e-eeasy website it would have to be something special, well, this is the first to qualify and it most certainly is special.
I’m going to keep this short to try and avoid the danger of a total rant. What are Microsoft thinking about when they decided to disable free access to the WebDAV protocol?
Parents, they were put on this planet to challenge us, usually around anything to do with technology. Much like how a necklace can tie itself in a knot that you couldn’t replicate if you tried, our parents can find ways of breaking technology in ways that just leave you speechless. As it was when my mum decided she wanted a new phone…it takes real skill to manage to delete all her old contacts and SMS messages with migrating absolutely nothing.
So as I move on to the next stage of my life and the realisation that soon I’ll be a self employed IT contractor I’m beginning to realise that there are a lot of things that have to be taken into account. One of the most important of these is the issue of Tax, and how to play by the rules but still maximising my income. I’ve been doing a lot of research on this and was more than a little upset when I came across IR35, the UK Governments most effective weapon against those that choose to go self employed and decide to try and earn a living for themselves and possibly others. Way to go UK Government, really encourage that entrepreneurial spirit why don’t you!
For the past 5 years there have been many ways of watching live football streams over the internet. Most of these have involved the use of Peer-To-Peer applications (such as SOPCast, TVAnts, TVUPlayer etc). Whilst there is no doubt that the software itself is perfectly legal there have been various questions asked over the years about the legality of the live football streams themselves.
I know I’ve covered streaming media and in particular streaming football matches in the past but things have changed since then. One piece of software in particular has come to stand head and shoulders above all the competition as the definitive way of watching live streaming football on your PC, what I’m talking about is TVAnts. Now TVAnts has been around for a while, but the thing is, it is always being improved upon and having more channels added. Put simply to you and me this means more live football matches. Not only that (is if that wasn’t good enough) but there is now an ever growing list of sports that are starting to find themselves being covered live on the internet from NBA to live motor sport and various forms of Golf from all over the world. Of course for the majority of us the main draw is the availability of live football matches for free, including those matches not normally shown such as Saturday afternoon 3pm kick offs from the English Premier League.
I’m a huge football fan, always have been and always will be. The problem is that I don’t live on the mainland UK, home to the best football league in the world, The Premier League!
I discovered live streams of football matches over the internet about 8 months ago. Although watchable there were a few drawbacks, mainly you had to get on to a server early and secondly even if you did manage to get on sometimes the picture quality (although smooth) was a bit low resolution.
In every house I’ve ever lived the one thing that we’ve always had is a bird table, well that was until I got married and moved in with my wife! Having been here a good year or two I thought it was about time to set one up. My main problem was that as I spend most days at work and that I’d have no way of actually watching it, that was until I came up with the idea of a webcam.
We’d all like to win the lottery right? That extra couple of million pounds would come in really handy? Unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be any way of guaranteeing a lottery win so when it comes to picking your lottery numbers there are many tried and trusted methods. Some people like to go down the maths route, others prefer to stick to birthdays and other special dates (a really bad idea unless you plan on splitting your lottery win with a lot of people!) One man who claimed to be able to predict the lottery was Derren Brown. His TV show shown in the UK in 2009 allegedly saw him predict all 6 winning lottery numbers for the main UK lottery draw.
If you’ve never heard of the Freelander range of Android tablets it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise, however for those in the know they are a fantastic (and cheap) way of getting a fully functioning, GPS enabled Android tablet for under £100. I bought one for use on the boat, the PD20 comes with a suction cup mount that fits perfectly on my boats dash and with the help of some clever Android mapping software (DrDepth) it far and away surpasses my £1500 dedicated marine GPS unit! All great so far but unfortunately towards the end of 2012 a fatal flaw was found, the Freelander PD10 and PD20 tablets stopped working with Google accounts. At first this may not seem like a big problem but when you think that one of the great selling points of the Freelanders over many other budget tablets was access to the Google Play store it became a very big issue, no play store equals a very limited app choice. So what is the problem and how do you fix it? Plenty of places on the internet contain bits and pieces of information but here is my attempt at explaining the most straight forward way of sorting it out and getting your Google account working with the Freelander tablets again.
Hotmail/MSN Transfer
Easily transfer from Hotmail or MSN Mail. There is no limit to the number of accounts that can be transferred. You can choose to mark mail as read, delete it from Hotmail servers, or leave it unread in your mail folder. The same message is never forwarded multiple times. GetMail can also back up your emails if needed.
